Spare Birdie Public House is soon to be Cedar Park’s destination for upscale entertainment with a full-service restaurant and bar, bowling, virtual golf, and live music. As the in-house graphic designer, my responsibilities were split between creating an online presence to drum up excitement and helping with interior design, signage, and other preparations as the building was constructed.

Spare Birdie Merch

This is the sort of place that needs a well-stocked merch section because there will be some major fans. With a strong concept and brand identity, it was no chore to think up fun merch ideas. From apparel to sports supplies, there are a lot of opportunities to feature the Spare Birdie name!

Putting Bay Statement Wall

The Spare Birdie putting bay is right at the heart of the building, so it’s a perfect place for a statement wall. The whole brand identity of Spare Birdie is like an elevated pub - a comfortable and lived-in space where you want to hang out, but with luxury touches. We thought it would be perfect to install moody emerald tufted velvet walls and a custom LED neon sign to stand out in the darkness, creating a branded Instagram moment. The padded walls and sturdy LED neon double as a safe place for folks who might get a little rowdy while practicing their putting.

Spare Birdie Teaser Video

In a show of support for the community, Spare Birdie chose to sponsor the 2022 Cedar Park 4th of July Celebration Festival and we were kindly offered a 15-second video slot to play after the fireworks and before the celebratory movie! Unfortunately, we had no footage of Spare Birdie! At that time, the construction team had just begun hanging drywall, and the build site was in no condition to shoot a commercial. However, with the help of some clever editing, I was able to form stock footage into a pretty accurate representation of the look and feel of Spare Birdie!

Spare Birdie Website + Social Media

The primary challenge of Spare Birdie’s online presence was that the business wasn’t even constructed yet! It’s hard to find a way to advertise a restaurant, bar, and entertainment venue without any actual photos of their food, drinks, or games. However, I tried to use this to my advantage by making visitors feel like they were getting a sneak peek behind-the-scenes - using construction photos, architectural mockups, and even a live stream of the job site.
